Clarence "Butch" F. Scheel, Jr., 70, of Carlisle passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at the U.P.M.C. Community Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born April 21, 1952, in Louisiana, the son of the late Clarence F. Scheel, Sr. and Doris Jean (McKinley) Scheel.
Butch was preceded in death by his wife H. LaRue (Burkett) Scheel, who passed away in 2015.
He worked in the food industry most of his career, having worked at John Gross & Company in Mechanicsburg and most recently in the bakery department at Karns Grocery Store in Boiling Springs.
While growing up, he was a member of the DeMolay Club and he enjoyed going to Cumberland Valley football games, hunting, and watching Steelers games. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandson Sawyer.
Butch is survived by his daughter, Christina L. Scheel (Scott Yeagy) of Etters; his grandson, Sawyer; his sister, Meloney C. Keenan (Wayne) of Toronto, OH; and several nieces and nephews including Joshua (Riza), Rebecca, and Sydnee.
Services will be held Monday, January 30, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. Viewings will be held Sunday from 6-8 pm and Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Golf Course Road.
