Alexander Edward Unitis

Alexander "Lex" E. Unitis, 69, of Enola, PA passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the U.P.M.C. Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.

    He was born September 26, 1955, in Chicago, IL the son of the late Edward R. and Melba L. (Kern) Unitis.

    Lex was a retired Data Base Administrator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry. 

    He enjoyed golfing, bowling, coin collecting and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Lex was an admirable basketball team coach and devoted mentor to his players (including all four of his own kids) in the East Pennsboro Youth Athletic League for many years. 

     Lex is survived by his wife Lynn S. (Prior) Unitis; his children, Marlissa L. Joynt (Dustin) of Mechanicsburg, Laura C. Unitis of Camp Hill, David A. Unitis (Cassie) of Camp Hill, Michael R. Unitis of Enola; two brothers, Jeffrey S. Unitis of Boiling Springs, Edward R. Unitis, Jr. of North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Dylan, Cameron, Carson, and Kaelynn.

     Memorial services will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, 11:00 am at Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A visitation will be held 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be held in the Grantham Memorial Park.
