Allan Eugene Gerber, 78, of Dillsburg, PA passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.
He was born on February 24, 1947, in Mechanicsburg, PA the son of the late Robert and Mary (Eichelberger) Gerber.
Allan was a graduate of Northern High School, class of 1965. He then entered the Army National Guard. Allan retired from Quaker Oats in Shiremanstown after 34 years. He was a member of the Grain Millers Local Union #221. Allan also worked for Northern York School District.
He had a love for sports. Attending countless baseball games, basketball and lacrosse. He rarely missed a game his grandchildren participated in. Allan had a great sense of humor. He could make anybody laugh. Always joking and talking with anybody. He loved the Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State, and the Arizona Cardinals. Allan enjoyed the occasional trip to Hollywood Casino and playing the Pennsylvania lottery, trying his luck at the scratch offs. Most of all, Allan loved his family. Even if he grumbled, he would never miss out on a family dinner, party, event, or school function.
Allan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vickie D. (Smith) Gerber; their son Brian A. Gerber, wife Tracy) of Dillsburg; their daughter Nicole McKee, (husband Duane) of Mechanicsburg; grandsons Cody, Dylan, Tyler, and Austin all of Dillsburg; granddaughter Rylie McKee of Mechanicsburg; great-grandson Mason Gerber of Dillsburg; his siblings Jay R. Gerber of Dillsburg, Dean L. Gerber of Pittsburgh, and Dian L. Ross of Wellsville.
In accordance with Allan's wishes, cremation will take place.
No services will be scheduled at this time.
Allan was everything to his family, and his absence will be felt everyday. He will be remembered for his laughter, teasing, and silly jokes. His family was his greatest joy.
