Amelia B. Mattern, 91, formerly of York Springs, PA passed away Thursday, May 16th, 2024, while a resident in Assisted Living at Yellow Bank, Dunkirk, MD.
She was born December 24th, 1932, in Robertsdale, PA the daughter of the late John and Genevieve (Scitticatt) Banco.
Amelia was the widow of Eino G. Nyberg and Charles W. Mattern.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Jones Accounting in Dillsburg and was a member of the York Springs Global Methodist Church.
Amelia loved to keep a tidy house and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and her church. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family including her children, grandchildren and siblings and spending time with her grandchildren at the beach every year.
Amelia is survived by two daughters, Trina Y. Larsen and her husband Erik of Bowie, MD, Kristina Y. Nyberg of Cathedral City, CA; five grandchildren, Jorgen Larsen, Kirsten Larsen, Jennifer Coppinger-Judy, Sarah Coppinger, Timothy Coppinger; eight sisters, Susan Quade, widow of Joseph, Julia Silsley, wife of Jim, Anna Heath, wife of Dave, Diana Diehl, wife of Walter, Fay Black, companion of Jack and widow of Mick, Alice Yoho, wife of Dave, Nancy Husick, wife of John, Janet Putt, wife of Gary, sister in law, Helen Banco, widow of Paul; three brothers Mike Banco, husband of Edna, Joe Banco husband of Sue, Andy Banco, husband of Janet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death along with her parents and husbands by three brothers, Paul, Johnny, and Bob Banco and one sister, Mary Banco.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, at 12:00 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc. 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A viewing will be held Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs.
