Annetta (Lemkelde) Newgard

Annetta Newgard, 85, formerly of Lewisberry, PA passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Green Ridge Village, Newville, PA.

   She was born September 28, 1938, in Dover, PA the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Hughes) Lemkelde.

   Annetta was a retired seamstress for Danskin in York. She was a member of Mt. Royal Full Gospel Church in Dover and was the church organist for many years.

   Annetta enjoyed quilting, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. 

   She is survived by her husband Samuel C. Newgard; her daughter, Robin S. Bobb (Kenneth) of Dillsburg; one sister, Grace Laird of Wellsville; one brother, Lauren Lemkelde of Dover; two grandchildren, Sara and Tyler Bobb; and many nieces and nephews. Annetta was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Tyson, Levere Lemkelde, Alvin Lemkelde, Evelyn Delp, Ada Drawbaugh, Sylvan Lemkelde, Carl Lemkelde, Russell Lemkelde, Elsie Delp, Shirley Hess, and Leroy Lemkelde. 

   Services will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm in Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A viewing will be held Friday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately in the Rohler's Mountain View Cemetery.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA 17019 to help the family defray funeral expenses.
