Barbara Eichelberger Obituary

Barbara Ann Eichelberger, 89, of Dillsburg passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 11, 1932, in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late Melvin C. and Lydia A. (Weber) Chronister.

Barbara was the widow of Lloyd R. Eichelberger.

Barbara was the co-founder of Lobar, Inc., Dillsburg.  She and her husband Lloyd took a leap of faith back in 1967 to start up a small construction company and aptly named it "Lobar", using the "Lo" from Lloyd and the "bar" from Barbara.  Raising five children while starting a business was no easy task, but she did it with hard work, dignity, and class.  Little did she know back then that their little construction firm would eventually grow into several successful and well respected businesses that not only supported their 100's of employees, but the local community as well.

Barbara was always extremely proud and passionate about her family and the family businesses she helped create.  Her greatest joy and happiness came from sharing in the successes enjoyed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Barbara’s love, spirit, and passion will continue to reside with her family, friends, and co-workers who adored her.

Barbara was a member of Harmony Church, Dillsburg.

She is survived by three sons, Lloyd Richard Eichelberger, Jr. and his wife Nancy of York Springs, William Parker Eichelberger, II and his wife Teresa of Dillsburg, Lee Edward Eichelberger of Dillsburg; two daughters, Sharon Rose Ayers and her husband John Richard of Dillsburg, Mary Ann Baptisti and her husband Dave of Mechanicsburg; a brother, Steven Chronister of Virginia; 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother John Chronister.
