Barbara A. (Weaver) Fickes

Barbara A. (Weaver) Fickes, 93, of Wellsville passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home.

   She was the widow of Fred Fickes,  with whom she shared 74 years of marriage.

   Barbara was born January 9, 1931, in Wellsville. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Beatrice (Weigle) Weaver. Barbara graduated from Dover High School. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was a past member of the Wellsville Frontier Days. Barbara enjoyed her many horses during the years and going on trail rides. She was known for her delicious peanut butter eggs and fudge. 

   Barbara is survived by her children; Deborah Ornstein of Maryland, Michael Fickes and his wife Diane of Wellsville, Fred C. Fickes and his wife Amy of Dover; Tamara Fickes-Wilt and her husband Scott of Dover; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

   Private services were held at the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., Dillsburg. Interment was in the Warrington Friends Cemetery, Wellsville.
