Pastor Barry A. Stough, born September 8, 1942, on his grandparents' farm in Dover, PA, went home peacefully to be with his Lord after lengthy progressive illness on June 11, 2022, following a brief stay at U.P.M.C. West Shore Hospital.
He was the son of the late Lorenzo Stough and Ruth (Rentzel) Stough.
He was the pastor of First Foundation Church in Dillsburg, PA, for many years, following serving as an associate pastor at the Rock Church in York, PA. He also was a building contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Delores (Miller) Stough, with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage in October. They have three daughters, Michelle Stough (at home), Stephanie Morrison (Michael) of York Springs and Nicole Briggeman (Bryan) of Wellsville, one granddaughter, Tori Parks of Harrisburg, a sister, Teresa Myers of Dillsburg and one niece.
Barry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed doing ministry and sharing his faith at every opportunity. Before his illness, he enjoyed going to the gym and spending time at ACE Hardware chatting with the customers, where he has met many people and made many new friends.
Services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Cedar Hill Baptist Church, 154 Chestnut Grove Road, Dillsburg, PA. Viewings will be held Wednesday from 6-8 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg and on Thursday from 10-11 am at the church. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
