Burnell M. Heikes

Burnell M. Heikes, 80 years, of Dillsburg, passed away Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

     He was born, Monday, May 11th, 1942, in East Berlin, Adams County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Mearl and Hattie Mae Hoak Heikes.

     Burnell was a retired Meat Cutter/Butcher having started his career with Weis Markets and then working for several additional shops and stores through out his life.  Burnell was a member of Celebration Community Church, Dillsburg and was an avid and lifelong Hunter.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Linda K. (Chronister) Heikes.  His daughter, Sherry G. Urich, of Newville.  His son, Jeffery B. Heikes, of Dillsburg.  His sisters:  Juene Humm, of Mechanicsburg and Elieen Klugh, of Dillsburg.  4 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Burnell was predeceased by his brother and sister, Lowell E. Heikes and Euphemia “Pheobe” Cullings. 

     Services will be held Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Celebration Community Church, 1048 S Mountain Rd, Dillsburg, PA 17019 with the Reverends Mike Hammer and Gary Fanus, officiating.  Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery – Mountain Road.  A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Church.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials in Burnell’s name can be made to his church, Celebration Community Church, 1048 S Mountain Rd, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
