Carolyn Bricker Obituary

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ led Carolyn Darce Bricker, 83, of Dillsburg, PA to her eternal home on January 20, 2025.  Carolyn was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and great grandmother and faithful servant to our Lord and community.

Born on December 28, 1941, she was the daughter of Harry and Darce Hoffman. She graduated from Mercersburg High School in 1959 and later pursued her passion for caregiving by earning her nursing degree.

Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Richard Bricker; her brothers Bob Hoffman (and wife Linda), John Hoffman (and wife Becky), and Ron Hoffman (and wife Donna); her sons, Tim Bricker (and wife Julie) and Chris Bricker (and wife Jennifer); her cherished grandchildren Megan Kebede (and husband Grum), Matthew Bricker, Joseph Bricker, Rachel Bricker, and Christina Bricker; and her precious great-granddaughter, Aleah Kebede.   She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Darce Hoffman and her beloved son Jeff Bricker.

Carolyn lived a life defined by family, faith, and service. She grew up on dairy farm near Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, where she learned the value of hard work, waking up early morning to help with chores alongside her brothers. She was an active participant in 4-H, competing proudly with her cows and developing a lifelong love for nature and responsibility.

Although Carolyn met Richard in middle school, their love story truly began after high school. They started dating, fell in love, and married on November 28, 1963. Carolyn supported Richard as he completed his college education, working as a nurse as they built a life together. After several moves, they settled in a in Wellsville, PA in 1974 where they lived for 44 years, raising three sons, creating life-long friendships and having a beautiful garden which they shared with neighbors and friends.

A woman of unwavering faith, Carolyn was a devoted member of Hope Grace Brethren Church for 46 years and led a weekly neighborhood Bible study for more than 40 years. Her deep spirituality shaped her life and inspired everyone around her.  Carolyn also traveled extensively, embarking on mission trips and adventures with Richard across the U.S. and around the world.

Above all, Carolyn’s greatest joy was her family. She found fulfillment in nurturing and celebrating her loved ones and took immense pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by all. Her spirit of compassion, dedication to faith, and unwavering love will continue to inspire us all. May the grace of God bring peace and comfort to all who mourn her loss. We celebrate her extraordinary life and honor her memory, forever grateful for the impact she made in the hearts of many.
