Carolyn Rae (Leiter) Foose

Carolyn R. Foose, 92, of Hampden Township, PA passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at West Shore Hospital.

   She was born March 29, 1933, in New Cumberland, PA the daughter of the late Samuel Leiter and Della (Bair) Leiter.

   Carolyn was the widow of Lee N. Foose, who passed away in 2002.

   She spent much of her career at Shaffer Trucking, where her dependability and work ethic were respected. In her later years, she retired to selflessly care for her husband, embodying her deep commitment to family and love.

   A talented and passionate quilter, Carolyn created countless beautiful pieces that will be cherished for generations. Her hands were rarely idle, always busy stitching comfort and warmth into the lives of others. Many of her sewing projects were crafted with love to assist the homeless. Carolyn was blessed with many talents, including acrylic painting and playing the accordion. She enjoyed Sudoku puzzles and playing card and tile games with family and friends. She was a strong woman, known for her resilience, grace and steadfast faith in God.

   Carolyn’s life was a testament to faith, strength and service. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the knowledge that she is home at last, embraced by eternal peace and joy.

   She is survived by her devoted children: Son Craig Randall (Mary) Foose of Mechanicsburg, PA and daughter Crista Rae (Kenneth Jr.) Robbins of York Springs, PA. She was the proud and loving grandmother to Jennifer (Erik) Wempa, Michelle (James) Davis, Kenneth (Linda) Robbins III, Matthew Robbins.  She was “Mimi” to nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Allen F (“Bud”) Leiter and sister Constance Stone.

   A private family viewing will be held at Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 followed by a graveside service at 12:00 noon at Dressler’s Ridge United Methodist Cemetery, 4180 Dressler Ridge Road, Mount Pleasant Mills, PA.
