Cora Marie (Smith) Metzger

Cora M. Metzger, 85, of Dillsburg, PA  and formerly of York Springs passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at the U.P.M.C. West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg. 

Cora was the widow of Claude W. Metzger.

She was born June 2, 1939, in Grantham, PA the daughter of the late Russell and Edna (Gallagher) Smith.

Cora was a homemaker and also cleaned houses for other people. 

She was a member of Bowmansdale Church of God. Cora enjoyed growing orchids, bingo, camping, hummingbirds and apples.

Cora is survived by two sons, Claude E. and Michael R. (Lisa) Metzger both of Dillsburg; two daughters, Diane M. DeHaven (Earl) of Abbottstown, Kimberly A. Nace (Eric) of Carlisle; one brother, Martin E. Smith of Bowmansdale; five grandchildren, Teresa Jones, Kayla Nace, Tristan Metzger, Cora Donelly, Tony Metzger; and four great-grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Shaun Jones, Joshua Myers, and Andrea Myers. Cora was preceded in death along with her husband by one son Barry L. Metzger, one daughter Patricia A. Metzger, one granddaughter Amy Myers, and four siblings Beatrice Neidhammer, Evelyn McGaughey, Verna Karns, and Lois Yohn. 

Services will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, 10:00 am at Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg.  Viewings will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 9-10 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Grantham Memorial Park.
