Darlene K. (Kirkland) Shaffer

Gretchen Darlene Shaffer, 91, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.

She was born August 12, 1933, in Dillsburg, PA the daughter of the late Leigh and Ruth (Risser) Kirkland.

Darlene was a self employed beautician having founded Beauty Manor located in Camp Hill in 1968 and operated for 30 years. 

Her passions was her family, traveling, and music. Darlene enjoyed playing the piano, country music, and dancing. 

She is survived by her children, Michele C. Heinaman (Mike) of Mechanicsburg, Mitchel C. Shaffer (Kelly) of Harrisburg, Melissa C. Moyer (Dan) of Rio Grande, New Jersey, Michael C. Shaffer (Sarah) of Camp Hill; her siblings, Genevieve Shaffer of Gettysburg, Merle Kirkland of Monet, MO, Leigh Douglas Kirkland of Dillsburg, Jim Kirkland of Watford City, ND; three grandchildren, Raechel, Leah, Derek; five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jillian, Irelyn, Liam, Levi; and one great-great-grandchild, Dahlia. She was preceded in death by two siblings, John Kirkland and Ruth Torsello.

Services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, 11:00 am at the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
