David L. Mohler

David L. Mohler, 81, of York passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the Yorkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York.

   He was born December 2, 1942, in York, PA the son of the late Lloyd and Mildred (Lehman) Mohler.

   David was the widower of Kay E. (Morton) Mohler.

   He was retired from Maple Press in York where he worked in the receiving department. David was a lifelong resident of York and lived in the same home for 61 years. He was a graduate of the William Penn High School, class of 1960. David was an avid sports enthusiast, especially basketball and track and field.  He played the trumpet since childhood and enjoyed listening to big band and jazz with friends. He loved the beach and counted down the yearly week long vacation in Ocean City, Maryland.  

   David is survived by his two children, Daniel L. Mohler and his wife Kim of West York, Lizabeth M. Mohler of Newport; two grandchildren, Lisa M. Sell and Daniel A. Mohler; two great-grandchildren, Jasmine K. Bortner and Nevaeh L. Mohler. David was preceded in death along with his wife by a son, David S. Mohler.

   Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024, 7:00 pm, in the Praise Community Church, 705 South Ogontz Street, York, PA 17403. A visitation will be held from 6-7 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held privately in the Greenmount Cemetery, York.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
