Dolores Ford Obituary
Dolores E. (Mayeski) Ford, 76, of Lewisberry, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.
She was born October 2, 1944 in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington the daughter of the late Reverend Anthony R. and Catherine Tomassacci Mayeski.
Dolores was a retired Foreign Liaison Officer having worked for the Department of the Army for 34 years at the US Army Depot in New Cumberland, USSAC. She was also a member of Christian Life Assembly and was a Leader for its WeCare program. A true people person going above and beyond what was expected.
Dolores enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining. Her favorite yearly event was having a big Christmas Eve party, where friends and family would fill her home. Up to 50 people would enjoy a sit down meal together. Always welcoming those who had no-one to celebrate with over Christmas.
Above all, Dolores enjoyed being with her family.Especially her grandsons. She loved to travel, planning trips that took them to: Disney World, Knoebels, Great Wolf Lodge and Lake Raystown Resort. During the summer they would camp multiple times and enjoy picnicking on the pontoon boat. Her newest title of Great Grandmother made her very proud.
Dolores is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Gary V. Ford. Her daughters: Sherry L. Hughes and her husband, Mark, of Mechanicsburg and Ellen A. Ryan and her husband, Todd, of Etters. Her Brothers: Reverend Samuel Mayeski and his wife Janice, of Newburg and Phillip Mayeski and his wife Esther, of Lewisberry. Her step-mother: Ruby Mayeski, of Camp Hill. Her grandchildren: Kyle S. Ryan and his fiancée, Hannah Stine, of Dover and Brandon A. Ryan and his wife, Maria, of New Cumberland. Her great-grandchild, Amora Ryan.
Services will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm at her Church, Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021, one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Church. Burial will be in the Emanuel Cemetery, Lewisberry. * At Dolores’ request, everyone is encouraged to attend her Celebration of Life in CASUAL attire. *
