Dorothea J. (Stoner) Baumbach

Dorothea J. Baumbach, 96, of Green Ridge Village and formerly of Dillsburg and Carlisle, passed away Saturday morning, May 25th, 2024 at the Village.

    She was born Tuesday, March 20th, 1928 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Edward and Clara Harclerode Stoner. 

   Dorothea was the Manager of the former Dutch Cupboard, Carlisle.  She was a member of Hope Grace Church, Dillsburg and also attended Crossroads Bible Church, Dillsburg.

   She was the widower of the late Robert W. Baumbach.

  Dorothea is survived by her loving family, her son:  Dennis E. Matthews and his wife, Bonnie, of Carlisle.  Her step-daughter:  Sharon K. Beard, of Middletown.  3 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her step-sons:  Robert W. Baumbach, Sr. and Jeffrey L. Baumbach; her brothers and sisters:  Marlin Stoner, Leverne Stoner and Frank Stoner, Sr. and Martha Velma Paulus and Clara Shettle. 

   Services will be held Friday, May 31st, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA 17019.   A viewing will be held Friday, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Monroe Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
