Obituary

Dorothy M. Blackburn, 101, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away Thursday, December 31 2020, at Church of God Home, Carlisle, PA.
Dorothy was the daughter of Frank Danko and Anna Danko (Kostelnik) of Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Blackburn; brothers Harry Danko, Fred Danko, Ralph Danko; sisters Martha Murphy, Marie Gaulden.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Blackburn (Elaine), grandchildren Mark Blackburn (Tara) and Stacey Maxwell (Joshua), and great-grandchildren Ava Blackburn, Tyler and Camryn Maxwell.
Dorothy retired from Pittsburgh National Bank (now known as PNC) after 37 years as a supervisor. She then volunteered for 17 years with the Visiting Nurse Association of Pittsburgh. For many years, she was responsible for the Greentree Borough Children's Easter Egg Hunt.
She enjoyed music. She loved playing her accordion and performing in Pittsburgh theaters with her brother Fred. They won first prize at the Allegheny County Fair in 1939.
Her two favorite sayings were We All Need Each Other and Courtesy is Contagious.
