Dorothy Twedt Gray

Dorothy Twedt Gray, age 86, of Chambersburg, passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey PA. 

     She was born August 22, 1938 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, the daughter of the late Jens and Helen Anderson Twedt. 

     Dorothy was a dedicated customer service representative for numerous retail companies in Chambersburg and Hagerstown for several years.  She was also employed by the Capitol Theatre Center helping with tickets and ticket sales.  After retirement she remained very active, volunteering with the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, MennoHaven and the Shook Home, all in Chambersburg. She attended the First Lutheran Church of Chambersburg.  She was passionate about singing and truly enjoyed showcasing her talents with the Mercersburg and Chambersburg Community Choruses.

     She is survived by her loving and devoted children:  David Forsberg and his wife, Margaret, of Mountain Top, PA; Kevin Forsberg and his wife, Denise, of Murfreesboro, TN; Wendy Sanders and her husband, Joseph, of York Springs, PA;  ten grandchildren, David Bruce Forsberg (Brenna), Sara Evans (John), Erik Forsberg (Kristen), Nickolas Forsberg (Rachel), Kelsey Phillips (Wyatt), Nicholas Sanders, Cameron Sanders (Kate), Krysta Forsberg, Austin Forsberg, Tyler Forsberg (Haley);  seven great-grandchildren and her faithful companion, Willow, her cat.  In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Brian Curtis Forsberg and her sister, Marilyn Jensen. 

     Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. 

    Memorial donations  in Dorothy’s name may be made to an Animal Charity of your choice.
