Dr. Philip K. Jensen, PhD

Philip K. Jensen, PhD, 92 of East Berlin, PA and formerly of Brookside, NJ passed away Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at the Wellspan-York Hospital.

   He was born Saturday, December 17th, 1932, in Seoul, Korea the son of the late Missionaries Anders Kristian  and Maud (Keister) Jensen.

    Dr. Jensen was a Psychology professor at Drew University for 39 years in Madison, NJ. In 1984 he was awarded The Drew Presidential Citation for his "bold imagination and distinguished University citizenship" . He was also one of the driving forces in reshaping the approaches used for student recruitment later adopted by other colleges across the Nation.  

   Dr. Jensen was one of the founders of the Social Science Research Association. 

   Above all Phil held his family as his most treasured possession. He was often heard telling others to spend time with family first. 

     He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Catherine "Cathy" (Schoon) Jensen; three sons, Kris Jensen and his wife Jenny of Ocean Grove, NJ, Scott Jensen and his wife Kimmy of East Berlin, PA, Randy Jensen and his wife Kelly of Plano, TX; three grandchildren, Lucy, Katie, and Kris. He was preceded in death by his sister, Clair Lee Jensen.

   Private services and burial will be held in the Franklinville Cemetery, Franklinville, PA.
