Elva M. (Valentine) Nell

Elva M. Nell, 78, of Dillsburg passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, at her home.

   She was born March 26, 1944, in Gettysburg the daughter of the late Donald G. and Frances (Mentzer) Valentine.

   Elva was the widow of Charles E. Nell.

  She was a member of the Upper Conewago " Mummerts" Church of the Brethren in Abbottstown. Elva enjoyed crafting, cooking, baking, going to the United Methodist Thrift Shop, and doing things for others.

   Elva is survived by three children, Crystal D. Rhoads (Gil) and children, Derek (Charlotte), Douglas Rhoads (Melissa), Lindsay Ranieri (Julian); Carlton L. Nell (Treva) of Dillsburg and children, Austen (Hanna), Lexie (John), Lizzie; Jason C. Nell (Melissa) of Dover and children, Justin (Katie), Joshua; five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Dianna Shank of Orrtanna, Carolyn Priest of Greencastle, Donald Valentine, Jr. of Orrtanna; and her best friend and companion Timothy O'Donnell of Spring Grove. Elva was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Shank.

   Services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A viewing will be held from 9:30 am-11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Mummerts Meetinghouse Cemetery, Abbottstown.
