Esther I. Darr, 93, of Dillsburg passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill.
She was born December 14, 1929, in Lewisberry, PA the daughter of the late Harry and Annie (Spangler) Spahr.
Esther was the widow of LeRoy A. Darr.
She was a member of the Franklintown United Brethren Church. Esther enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and flower gardening. She liked to travel and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Esther also volunteered at the Dillsburg Area Public Library for 20 years.
She is survived by four daughters; Linda Y. Stough (Ronald) of East Berlin, Carol A. Stonemetz of East Berlin, Deborah K. Hook (James) of Shippensburg, Cathy J. Duncan (Clayton) of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dillsburg Area Public Library, 204 Mumper Lane, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
