Esther (Estera Lippolis) Schambach, 96, of Mechanicsburg, PA, amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2022. She was born March 5, 1925, in Scranton, PA, daughter of Giovanni and Josephine Pugliese Lippolis. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, James E Schambach, and her eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Carmella, her children, Jim Schambach (Brenda), Joanne Gregori (Mark), Paul Schambach (Dawn), her nephew Rob Starner, her grandchildren, Jason Gregori (Apphia), Jonathan Gregori (Emily), Joel Gregori (Bridget), Jessica Spicher (Pete), Jimmy Schambach (Tristin), David Schambach (Sara), Stephen Schambach, her eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Esther retired from Central Soya in Camp Hill. She and her husband Jim were faithful members at First Assembly of God in Harrisburg, where their legacy endures to this day. She also had been active in numerous other ministries including Forever Young at Christian Life Assembly and, most recently, M28 Ministry in Camp Hill, where she served until the time of her passing.
Esther was known for her enthusiastic service and hospitality, making meals and inviting so many people into her life and home. Her joyful, sacrificial service in preparing meals and extending hospitality to friends, acquaintances and even strangers was remarkable and without complaint. Her home was open to anyone who had a need.
Services will be held, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 North Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA 17119. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.
