Evalyn A. (Hess) Himes

Evalyn A. (Hess) Himes,  94, of Green Ridge Village, Newville, and formerly of Dillsburg, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 22nd, 2026,  at Green Ridge Village, Newville, PA surrounded by her loving family.  

    She was born Wednesday, July 1st, 1931 in Warfordsburg, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Rex C. and Stella P. Spade Hess.

     Evalyn was a retried secretary and a member of Hope Grace Church, Dillsburg. She along with her husband, Bob, owned and operated a full service ESSO Station in Camp Hill and a full service Exxon Station in Mechanicsburg.

     In 1949 she wed Robert E. Himes and together they raised 2 children, son, Robert E. Himes Jr. of Minnesota and daughter Judith Ann Schauer (deceased).

     Evalyn is survived by her beloved son, Robert and his wife Pat, 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers: Nyle and Bonie Hess.

      A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 13th, 2026 at 11:00 am in Hope Grace Church, 110 Old York Road, Dillsburg, PA.  A visitation will be held Saturday, one hour prior to the Service, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Church.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the Family in the Dillsburg Cemetery - Golf Course Road.
