Faith Evans Obituary

Faith Rosalie Evans, born on April 23rd, 1944, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Friday, April 17th, 2026.

As the eldest of ten siblings, Faith was a beloved matriarch who embodied strength and loyalty throughout her life.

At the age of 17, she married her first love, Bob Talllman and devoted herself to the roles of wife and mother.

Her early career included work as a secretary, where her organizational skills flourished, contributing to initiatives such as the Welcome Wagon and the Rec Center in Lititz, PA. Notably, Faith played a significant role in facilitating a performance by the renowned band Deep Purple at the Rec Center in the early 1970s.

Faith later moved to Ocean City, Maryland, with her three children, where she embraced life by the ocean. She enjoyed beach combing, surf fishing and people watching on the boardwalk.  She particularly enjoyed gatherings with friends  Lee Welch, Dottie Hayes and her family, to pick crabs and share in endless laughter and shenanigans.

A self-made businesswoman, she purchased Olympus Trophy Company in Mechanicsburg, PA from her lifelong friend Gail Parthree. Alongside her husband, Kenneth Evans, she dedicated over two decades to serving the community by creating awards for schools, athletic teams, and local businesses.

Faith’s profound appreciation for nature led her and Kenner to acquire land in Northern PA, where they built a hunting cabin that became a beloved retreat for family and friends. Game nights of poker, Yahtzee, and Scrabble often stretched into the early hours, echoing with laughter, sarcasm and Kenner playing his guitar.

In addition to her love for family and nature, Faith found joy in spending time with her sister Bennie and brother in law Ed at their property, where evenings cooking hot dogs over the open fire and fishing in Sherman's Creek were treasured experiences.

Faith spent a large majority of her later years attending all the games of her grandchildren throughout their school years.   Rolling and decorating sand tarts was a holiday tradition that Faith shared with all of her grands….

Faith was very patriotic and had a deep love for God and Country.  She instilled a strong respect for both into the lives  of her children and grandchildren!

Her spirited and often outspoken nature will be profoundly missed, for those who truly knew Faith, understood that the well-being of her loved ones was always her greatest priority. There was never any doubt about the depth of her love and devotion.

Faith’s legacy has taught us: "The greatest gift to loved ones is time, for it nurtures true connection and creates ties that bind!” pS/26

Faith is survived by her beloved children: Son, Bob Tallman, wife Joni and grandson Kenneth, Daughter: Holli Davies, husband Mick and grandson Logan, Daughter: Patti Sisto, husband Dan and grandchildren Tia Welsh, Scottie Davies and Michael Davies.  Great-grandchildren Adison and Kiersten Diehl and Madison, Jack and Vivian Davies. Bonus grandchildren, Heather, Stephen and Samantha Sisto along with bonus great grands, Maxwell Schafer, Layla and Willow Downey and August Sisto.  Sisters; Linda Pampuch, Joyce Foster, Bennie Crouse and Leslie Brown, Brothers; Van, Dennis, Douglas, Dan-Michael Sherman.

Faith was preceded in Death by her parents John and Mildred Sherman, Brother Kenneth C. Sherman, niece Whitney Sherman, Son in law Scott E. Davies, Sr. and dear friends Lee Welch and Butch Parthree.
