George A. McCoy, III, 89, of Wellsville, PA passed away Saturday, June 14th, 2025, at his home.
He was born August 13th, 1935, in York, PA the son of the late George A. McCoy, Sr. and Sara I. (Kaltreider) McCoy.
George was the widower of Nancy (Lehmer) McCoy.
He was a retired Master Machinist having worked for B.M. Root Company in York.
George was an avid Elvis fan, enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, being in the outdoors and especially spending time with his family.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one son, Richard L. McCoy (Jennifer) of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Jill L. Fickes Bowen (Christopher) of Wellsville, Jeanne M. Taylor of Dillsburg; one sister, Ruth E. Nailor of Dillsburg; two brothers, Charles E. McCoy of Wellsville, Donald A. McCoy of Valrico, FL; six grandchildren, Jason McCoy, Megan Bauman, Courtney Klinker, Kathryn Lucas, Jonathan Taylor, Mitchell Fickes; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death in addition to his wife and parents by two brothers, Eugene J. McCoy and Carroll R. McCoy.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, at 7:30 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be held at the convenience of the family in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
