George "Butch" H. Firestone, Jr.

George "Butch"  H. Firestone, Jr.,  86, of Sun Valley, NV and formerly of the Dillsburg area passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his home in Nevada. 

    He was born August 6, 1938, in Dillsburg, PA the son of the late George H., Sr. and Anna I. (Yost) Firestone.

   George was the widow of Dawn E. (Lutz) Firestone.

   He was a retired automobile mechanic and also worked at Bakers Restaurant for several years.

   George faithfully read his Bible daily and was an avid classic movie enthusiast. 

   George was a longtime member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God, Dillsburg. 

   He is survived by six children, Jeffrey L. Firestone of Sparks, NV, Kevin S. Firestone of Sun Valley, NV, Kimberly A. Frye (James) of Harrisburg, Eric T. Firestone of Sparks, NV, Melanie E. Reiser of Dillsburg, Mark P. Firestone of Lewisberry; and two grandchildren, Bryan J. Frye (Robin) and Rebecca A. Frye (fiancé Jason Elhajj); and one step grandchild, Nathan A. Reiser (Andrea) and family.  George was preceded in death along with his parents and wife by one sister Sally L. Fetrow.

   Services will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 am in his church, Mt. Pleasant Church of God, 146 South York Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019.  A visitation will be held Friday from 10-11 am at his church. Burial will be held in the Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church at the above address.
