Gerald F. O’Sullivan, 82, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on June 17, 2023 peacefully at his home after a short illness. His loving wife of nearly 60 years, Eileen, was at his side.
Born February 26, 1941 in Philadelphia, Jerry was the youngest of three children of the late Florence and Bridie (O’Connor) O'Sullivan. He was a 1959 graduate of Father Judge High School in Philadelphia. He served as a Weather Observer in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his service in the Air Force, Jerry spent most of his career working as a computer programmer and project manager for the Fleet Materials Support Office for the U.S. Navy located in Mechanicsburg.
Jerry and Eileen were long time members of the Flirts and Skirts square dance club. Jerry was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, the American Legion Post 26 in Dillsburg, and the VFW Post 6771 in Dillsburg.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by sons Gerald F. (Mary) O’Sullivan, Daniel W. (Stacie) O’Sullivan, and Michael S. (Monica) O'Sullivan, and grandchildren Breanna (Andrew) Clark, Rachel O’Sullivan, Grace O’Sullivan, Kieran O’Sullivan, Bridie O’Sullivan, Ava O’Sullivan, and Liam O’Sullivan.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother John O’Sullivan, his sister Elizabeth Wagner, and his granddaughter Caley O’Sullivan.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home,Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Filey's Cemetery, following the service. The Service will be livestreamed on https://www.facebook.com/cocklinfuneralhome , starting at 10:55 am.
