Grace Ann Smyrski

Grace Ann Smyrski, 79, of Dillsburg passed away peacefully Thursday, January 13, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born August 26, 1942, in Atlantic City, NJ the daughter of the late David M. and Dorothy M. (Dobbins) Hughes.

Grace was retired from Bell Telephone and was treasurer of its union. She was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, class of 1960. Grace was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Mechanicsburg, American Legion Post #109 Ladies Auxiliary in Mechanicsburg, Carlisle Moose Club, and the Red Hat Society. 

Grace enjoyed her monthly lunches with her classmates of 1960, visiting Wildwood Crest, fishing in Cape May and with her brother in Wachapreague, VA, cooking and canning. 

Grace is survived by her husband, Arthur T. Smyrski;  and her brother, David C. Hughes and his wife Karen of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Fred Hughes, and her kitty cat Sammy.

Services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:30 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. Viewings will be held Friday from 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 11:00-11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
