Helen L. (Porter) Clayton

With heavy hearts we bid farewell to a beloved remarkable soul, Helen Leona Clayton. She passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 91 after a brief illness.

Helen left behind a legacy of stubborn, independent determination, boundless kindness and an indomitable spirt that touched everyone she met.

She was retired from the Dillsburg Post Office.

Helen was born on January 1, 1933, in Washington, Pennsylvania to the late Henry and Helen Porter. On November 9, 1951, she was united in marriage to William Clayton. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1998.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Cathy J. Failor of James Creek (Rusty); two sons, Brian N. (Carol) of Dillsburg, Andrew E. of Leola; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Shannon), Joshua (Carrie), Ethan (Samantha); and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:30 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A visitation will be held Friday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
