Homer Myers Obituary

Homer Stanley Myers, 73,  of Wellsville, Pennsylvania, passed away, Wednesday, October 20, 2021,  at his home.

   Homer was born June 5, 1948, in Goldsboro Pennsylvania,  to the late Homer V. and Miriam Myers.

  He graduated from Cedar Cliff High School in 1966 and from Williamsport Area Community College 1968. In 1968 he became a member of IBEW Local 143. Homer enjoyed working for the Edwin L. Heim Co. for 42 years where he was an electrician, electrical estimator then took on the role of Vice President. He also worked alongside his wife Sylvia in their catering business, Windy Ridge Farm.  Homer was a member of Eureka- West Shore Lodge #302, Red Mount United Methodist Church, Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Assoc. and the York/Adams 2-cylinder club.  He served his community as a member of the Washington Township planning commission and auditor.  He enjoyed working around the farm on his John Deere tractors, smoking cheese and making pork BBQ as well as making homemade ice cream.  He enjoyed jam night at the Franklintown Fire Co. and helping at Wellsville Fire Co. events and Homer had a love for Springer Spaniels.  He was a devoted husband, father, and a mentor to many. He had a kind word to share with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed.

   Homer is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sylvia Myers; two sons, Michael Myers and his wife Sharon, Bradley Myers and his wife Theresa and three stepsons, Anthony Myers and  his wife Christy, Todd Ruppert and his wife Lisa, Jonathan Stahl and his wife Jill;  eleven grandchildren, Jared, Alyssa, Mike Jr, Kayce, Christian, Demi, Cheyenne, Mark, Autumn, Clay, Sam; and two great-grandchildren.

   He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Ronald and Keith Myers.

   Services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Red Mount Cemetery, East Berlin.
