Jack Wesley Baker, Sr., 71, of Dillsburg, PA passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at his home.
He was born May 6, 1954, in Mechanicsburg, PA the son of the late Melvin Leroy Baker and Doris Elmira (Gingrich) Baker.
Jack was a retired car inspector for Norfolk Southern Railroad.
He enjoyed woodworking which included making pens and grandfather clocks. Jack also enjoyed his Christmas display at his home, raising money for veterans and Bike a Better Path, playing music and playing his keyboard and drums. Jack was a Penn State Fan but most of all he loved being Santa Claus. He flew into various hospitals by helicopter to visit the kids that were in the hospital. Jack participated in many fundraisers for various groups as well as just popping into Christmas parties to surprise everyone, especially the little ones. He was the happiest bringing joy to others.
Jack is survived by his wife Lorrie Jo Simmoneau-Baker; his sons, Jack W. Baker, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Halifax, Jeffrey Baker of Huntington County; his step-sons, Dustin Simmoneau and his wife Lily of Linglestown, Rusty Simmoneau and fiancée Bree of Mt. Holly Springs; his grandchildren, Samantha Kaylor and husband Joey, Jordan Stephens, Jeannie Baker, Brendin Aaron Simmoneau, Charlee Ann Simmoneau; and his great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Luna, Ruby; and his brother Dale Baker and his wife Lonnie of Shermans Dale. Jack was preceded in death along with his parents by a sister Jeanne Baker in 1990.
Services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery-Marysville.
