James E. King

James E. King, 81, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday evening, August 18, 2023 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle, surrounded by Family.

    Jim was born Tuesday, March 3, 1942 in Wellsville, York County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lester David and Beulah Mae Krone King.

    He was retired from Citizens National Bank as the Assistant Vice President with over 46 years in banking.  Jim was also member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg where he had served for over 40 years as its Associate Treasurer and enjoyed working with the Easter Egg Makers.  But above all, Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, trips to Tennessee and Williamsburg and watching college football games. Jim always has a smile on his face and his laughter filled the room.                    

     Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn M. Carothers King.  His sons:  J. Edward King and his wife, Jennifer, of Palmyra and Scott D. King, of Mechanicsburg.  His granddaughter, Caelyn King. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother Robert D. King. 

    Services will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 am in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 130 Nittany Dr, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with the Reverend Alex Martini, officiating, followed immediately by luncheon for family and friends.  A private family burial will be in the Bakers Church Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.  A viewing will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service at the Church.
