James E. Morton, 76, of Dillsburg passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born September 26, 1946, in New London, Connecticut, the son of the late Elza E. and Irene H. (Smith) Morton.
James worked as a lithographer in the printing trade industry. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient.
James loved his family, enjoyed yard work and farm work along with various building projects. He loved hunting and being in the outdoors.
James is survived by his wife Linda C. (Brooks) Morton; two children, James E. Morton, Jr., Sherri Lee Morton; two sisters, Joyce Andrews, Linda S. Morton; one brother, Barry Morton; two grandchildren, Andrea Lee Ditzler, Collin J. Morton; and three great-grandchildren, Maddie Ditzler, Ethan Ditzler, and Dylan Ditzler.
Services will be held Monday, July 17, 2023, at 12:00 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N., Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A viewing will be held Monday from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be held at the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
