On Tuesday, August 31, 2021, Joan Sarge, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at age 64.
Formerly of Dillsburg, she was the loving wife of Jim Sarge and the daughter of the late Arthur Cook and Opal (Fleming) Cook.
She loved Jesus more than anything and lived her life loving and encouraging all those around her. Joan loved worshiping the Lord, spending time in the Word of God, and sharing her testimony of Christ. One of her proudest moments was graduating from The Rhema Bible Training College in 2007.
Joan just celebrated her 40th year of marriage and was an incredibly loving wife. She adored her husband and always enjoyed being by his side. Joan was the model of devotion, commitment, and love.
Her later years were filled with the excitement and fun only grandchildren can bring. Almost every day, Joan played with her grandchildren or expressed with others how beautiful and intelligent they were. Always sharing the latest picture or story, she couldn’t help but exude her passion and love for her family.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, Joan always put the needs of others before her own. She always had a heart to give and help and used medicine as a platform to witness to others the truth about Jesus.
Joan is survived by her husband; Jim Sarge of Sylva, NC, two daughters; Rachel (Aaron) Clements of Sylva, NC and Alissa (Michael) Passmore of Toxaway, NC, one son; Joshua (LeLiana) Sarge of Brentwood, TN and 13 grandchildren; as well as siblings; Gary Eugene Cook (Carla) of Taylor, SC, Victor Charles Cook (Lauren) of Dillsburg, PA, Wanda C. Ross (John, deceased) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Michael Lee Cook (Donna) of Aurora, IL, Stephen Mark Cook (Kathy) of Dover, PA, Angela Joy Hartman (Charles III) of Greenville, SC, and Douglas Arthur Cook of Dillsburg, PA.
She joins in Heaven her late sister Jane Marie Cook.
Joan will be greatly missed as she was loved tremendously by family, friends, and everyone who met her. However, we rejoice with her as she is in the arms of Jesus.
A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, September 11th, 2021 at 11 am at the Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 North Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA 17019. Viewing will begin at 10 am.
Flowers or memorial contributions may be sent to Cocklin Funeral Home.
