John E. Prato

John E. Prato, 75, of Dillsburg passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg.

   He was born March 26, 1948, in York the son of the late Francis and Mary (Lickliter) Prato.

   John was the widower of Linda G. (Smith) Prato.

   John served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, serving at RTAFB, Nakhon Phanom, Thailand with MACV. He was retired from XL Logistics where he worked as a trainer.  John previously worked in sales at Finch Services in Hanover and in farmtronics at Ralston Purina.

   He was an avid hunter and enjoyed home remodeling and making old things new again.  

   John is survived by a son, Mario E. Prato and his wife, Barbara, of Dillsburg; a daughter, Melissa A. Clark and her husband John, of Aspers; and four grandchildren, Jonathan Brenizer, Joshua Brenizer, April Prato, and Jackson Prato.

   Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
