Julia Kyllonen Obituary

Julia M. Kyllonen, 87, of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away at the home where she was living with her daughter and son-in-law, on Monday, April 1st, 2024,  surrounded by her loving family.

She was the faithful and beloved wife of David Kyllonen (now deceased) for 60 years.

Judy was a Godly woman who was a passionate follower of Jesus! She lived with a vibrant faith that encouraged so many, wherever she went! She was born in Corbin, KY on May 25th, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Euna Robbins. Judy was the middle of three children, Joanna Parker and Nelson Lee Robbins. (Both still living) Judy was an INSPIRATION to all! She went to Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO, where she met and married Dave Kyllonen.

She was part of the singing group called the Melodettes and then later she sang with The Sunday Singers. Music has always been a big part of her life. She had a beautiful heart for God, that said YES to whatever was asked of her. In her years, she directed church choirs, wrote and directed church plays for Christmas & Easter and served as a Youth Director for many years and so much more! She has also been committed to encouraging and helping others find their place in serving God. Judy was the wife of Dave Kyllonen of The Couriers singing Ministry. She traveled with him to many states and over 30 countries around the world. Dave and Judy also spent 3 years as missionaries in Barbados, West Indies. She loved being a pastor’s wife for 7 years at Westside Assembly of God Church in Davenport, Iowa, and traveled with her entire family in HomeFire Family Ministries for 13 years.

Judy is survived by her 3 daughters, Kristie (Gregory) Hollis of West Grove, PA, and their children Elijah (Ashlee), Isaiah (Brittany) and Ali (Landon) Verkerk; Robin (Paul) Eschbach of Dillsburg and daughters, Erica (Michael) Steiner, and Ellie (Gordon) Choate; Connie (Mike) Hammer of Dillsburg and daughters, Victoria, Tiffany (Maitland) Hudson, and Madison (Carson) Morter. Judy has 18 great grandchildren.

Donations in her honor can be made towards Celebration Community Church, 1048 South Mountain Road, Dillsburg PA 17019.

Services will be held Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at 12 PM at Celebration Community Church in Dillsburg. A viewing & visitation will be held from 10AM to 12PM at the church.
