Julie Ann (McCurdy) Metzger

Julie Ann Metzger, 57, of Dover and formerly of Dillsburg, passed away Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, surrounded by her loving family.

   She was born Tuesday, June 14th, 1966 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Paul A. and Betty A. Myers McCurdy, of Dillsburg.

   Julie was a Contract Specialist with DLA Distribution, New Cumberland, PA.  She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church (Filey’s), Dillsburg and 1000 Trails.  She loved spending time at the beach and camping with family and friends, reading, watching the Food Network and doing crossword puzzles. 

   In addition to her parents, Julie is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, David R. Metzger.  Her sister and brother:  Alice Staats, of Wrightsville and David McCurdy, of Mechanicsburg.  Her nephews:  Ryan and Troy Staats and Andrew McCurdy, along with many close and beloved friends.

   Services will be held Friday, August 25th, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home,Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA. Burial will be in Filey’s Cemetery, Dillsburg.  A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, August 24th, 2023 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and again on Friday, one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc.

   Memorials in Julie’s name may be made to Filey’s Cemetery Association, c/o Michael Davis, 156 Spring Dr. Dillsburg, PA 17019.
