Kenneth L. Hutchison

Kenneth L. Hutchison passed peacefully with family by his side on March 18, 2023, at the Claremont Nursing and Rehab Center in Carlisle, PA. Ken’s generosity, compassion, and wisdom made a positive impact on countless lives, while his humor and endless trove of stories were legendary.

Ken was born May 2, 1933, in Leroy, NY.  He is survived by his wife Elaine and children David Hlatky (Deborah) in Lebanon PA, Greg Hlatky (Lesley) in Dillsburg, and Danielle Hlatky in Brooklyn NY.  He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Ronald and Richard, and is his sister, Sandra.  Ken’s sister Beatrice resides in Eagle, ID.

Ken studied Applied Engineering at Alfred State University, NY, using the GI Bill after combat service during the Korean War (1952-1953).  He was the owner of H&H Sales Associates and H&H Service Company, both heating and air conditioning companies founded by Ken and his business partner, William J Healey more than 56 years ago.

Ken served on the Northern York County School District’s Board of Directors for 16 years, and he was one of the founding parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.

He was a member of the Carlisle County Club for more than 53 years, where Ken was an avid golfer and Gin Rummy player.

Ken will be interred at the Indiantown Gap National cemetery, and per his wishes, all services will be private.  Cocklin Funeral Home in Dillsburg, PA will handle the arrangements.  Ken requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to New Hope Ministries, P.O. Box 448, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
