Kenneth E. Moose, Sr., 75, of Mechanicsburg passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born April 26, 1948, in Carlisle the son of the late Pencil and Sarah (Krall) Moose.
Ken was a graduate of Northern High School, class of 1966. After high school he attended Juilliard School of Music where he studied the drums. He then went on to play the drums professionally and touring with numerous artists such as Lesley Gore and the Dovells.
Ken also was a music composer.
He was a member of the Mechanicsburg American Legion Post #109.
After his music career he went on to work as a prison guard at Camp Hill State Prison and as a policemen for the York Haven Police Department. Ken then went on to work in the insurance industry and lastly was a self employed concession stand operator, where he worked at local fairs and flea markets.
Ken attended the Sabbath Day Fellowship in Mechanicsburg and prior to that he was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.
He loved all kinds of animals and enjoyed watching them. Ken enjoyed talking to anyone about anything along with an interest in Native Indians and watching General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife R. Renee (Mengle) Moose; four sons, Kenneth E., Jr., Michael, James, and Shawn Moose; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by two siblings, Earl Moose and Janet McGovern.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Filey's Cemetery, Dillsburg.
Ken was a former member of the Northern Music Boosters and the family wishes that memorial donations can be made to the Northern Music Boosters, P.O. Box 46, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
