Larry E. Eichelberger, Sr., 81, of Shermans Dale, PA and formerly of Dillsburg, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Letort Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation, Carlisle.
He was born August 1, 1943, in Mechanicsburg, PA the son of the late Richard D. and Helen R. (Bentzel) Eichelberger.
Larry was a lifelong farmer, having operated a poultry farm in Dillsburg.
He was a graduate of Northern High School, class of 1961 and lettered in football, baseball, and basketball. Larry was a member of Andersontown Church of God and attended Grace Evangelical Christian Church in Shermans Dale.
He was an Exhausted Rooster in the Dillsburg Jaycee's and served as a Supervisor for 18 years with the Carroll Township (York County) Board of Supervisors and volunteered with several non-profit organizations.
Larry enjoyed farming, landscaping, attending family reunions, and his dog Buddy.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly M. (Worthington) Eichelberger; his children, Katrina L. Ocker (Gary) of Dillsburg, Vickie E. Eichelberger of Kentucky, Katherine M. Eichelberger of Alabama, Brian L. Eichelberger (Pam) of New Bloomfield, Lisa G. Benton of Harrisburg, Kendra A. Eichelberger (Andy McDonald) of Ickesburg; one brother, David Eichelberger of Duncannon; one sister, Kay Brandt of York Springs; 30 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild and expecting another shortly. Larry was preceded in death by a son, Larry E. Eichelberger, Jr.; one sister, Shirley Livingston; one brother, Randy Eichelberger; one son-in-law, Ed Benton; one grandson and twin granddaughters.
Services will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Crossroads Bible Church, 1022 York Rd., Dillsburg, PA with Rev. Brian Eichelberger officiating. A viewing will be held Monday from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow the luncheon at the Andersontown Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Grace Evangelical Christian Church, 12 Dromgold Dr., Shermans Dale, PA 17090.
