Mary Lehman Obituary

Mary D. (Dehmey) Lehman, age 83, of Dillsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12th, 2026, at her home.

Born on Sunday, April 25, 1943, in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, Mary was the daughter of the late Jay A. and Ruth Kaylor Dehmey. Throughout her life, she was known for her gentle spirit, steady faith, and deep devotion to the people and places that mattered most to her.

Mary retired from the Financial Aid department at Messiah University in Grantham, where her work reflected her care for others and her desire to help students and families. She was also an active and devoted member of Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren in Dillsburg. Her faith was expressed not only through service, but also through music. Mary sang in the church choir and led worship singing for many years, sharing a love of music that became a meaningful gift passed down through her family.

She also found great joy in flowers and gardening, tending beauty with the same patience and care she offered to those around her. Mary’s life was marked by warmth, faithfulness, and love, and she leaves behind memories that will continue to bloom in the lives of her family and friends.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Dallas D. Lehman. She is survived by her loving children, Erik B. Lehman and his wife, Kimberly, of New Cumberland, and Amy S. Renard and her husband, Ryan, of Dillsburg; her sister, Nancy Dehmey, of Elizabethtown; and her brothers, Earl Dehmey (Evie) of Maytown, and Allen Dehmey (Joyce), of Elizabethtown. She was a very loving grandmother to her four grandchildren, Sean Renard, Ava Lehman, Lana Lehman, and Evan Renard, who brought her great joy. Along with her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Clara Kniss.  She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren, 276 Old York Road, Dillsburg, PA. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM prior to the service at the church.
