Mary Jane (Thompson) Firestone

Mary Jane Firestone, age 100, of Wellsville, Pennsylvania passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday afternoon, November 6th, 2024 at her home.

   She was born Thursday, July 10th, 1924 in Wellsville, York County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Wiley Thompson. 

   Mary Jane was a loving wife, mother and doting grandmother and was a member of the Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren. Mary Jane was a gifted artist and owned an Art Studio where she taught art lessons.

   She was the widow of the late Roy W. Firestone. 

   Mary Jane is survived by her loving children:  Kenneth R. Firestone and his wife Dolores, of Dover; Thomas L. Firestone and his wife Rosemary, of Dillsburg;  Janice C. Trump and her husband Dean, of Wellsville and Stephen J. Firestone and his wife Norma, of Cloverdale, IN .  Her brother,   Arthur Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Elmyra, NY.  5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her sisters, Grace Newcomer,  Ruth I. Miller and Cathrine D. Nester.

   Services will be held Monday, November 11th, 2024 at 11:00 am, in the Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren, 276 Old York Rd, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania with Dr. Josh Tomes, officiating.  Burial will be alongside her husband in the Wolgamuth Cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Monday, November 11th, 2024, (2) two hours prior to the service, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Church.
