Matthew David Karl

Matthew David Karl, 23, of Wellsville, PA passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Wellspan York Hospital.

He was born August 28, 2001, in Camp Hill, PA the son of Scott E. and Stacey L. (Ripka) Karl of Wellsville.

Matt worked as a landscaper for W&S Landscape Services, York. 

He was a graduate of Dover Area High School, class of 2020. Matt enjoyed riding motorcycles, attending car meets, racing, hunting and fishing, rescuing animals and helping with the memorial race for his brother Paul Simon. 

Matt is survived in addition to his parents by five siblings, Scott A. Karl (Brandi) of Dallastown, Tasha E. Ferrante of Dillsburg, Terra L. Karl of Wellsville, James L. Karl of Dover, Jeremiah E. Karl of Wellsville; his maternal grandfather, John E. Ripka (Margaret) of Olanta; his paternal grandmother, Linda L. Karl of Wellsville; and many nieces and nephews. Matt was preceded in death by his brother Paul Simon Karl.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025, beginning at 2:00 pm at the home of his parents,  540 S. Kralltown Rd., Wellsville, PA. 

Matt's legacy will live on because of his generous gift of organ donation.
