Mervin A. Brubaker, 90, of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Village.
He was born November 14, 1933, in Wayne County, Ohio the son of the late William and Emma (Burckhart) Brubaker.
Mervin received his undergraduate degree from Messiah University and his masters degree from Shippensburg University. He then went on to serve as a missionary with the Brethren in Christ Missionary Service in Zimbabwe and Zambia where he taught science. Mervin then went on to teach and retire from the Northern York County High School where he taught Physics for 26 years. He and his wife were caretakers for over 14 years at the Ashcombe Mansion in Mechanicsburg. He was known as the "Clock Doctor" having a clock repair business that he maintained up until recently.
Mervin was a member of the Messiah Village Brethren in Christ Church and a former member of the Grantham Brethren in Christ Church where he was a former Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors and enjoyed sailing on his boat "Betzi".
Mervin is survived by his wife Myrtle E. Brubaker; and his son, Stephen R. Brubaker of Prescott, AZ. He was preceded in death along with his parents by two brothers, Harvey and Clayton Brubaker.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023, 11:00 am at Grantham Brethren in Christ Church, 421 Grantham Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church. Burial will be held in the Grantham Memorial Park. Services will be livestreamed on the Cocklin Funeral Home Facebook page.
