Patricia G. Smith, of Dillsburg, passed away peacefully at Celebration Villa of Dillsburg on Saturday, May 9, 2026. She was 95 years old.
She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on January 28, 1931, the daughter of the late G. Adolph and Abbie (Schultz) Strangberg. She graduated from Kenosha Bradford High School in 1948 and later worked at the Electric Supply Office at Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois. She moved to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where she worked in the COSAL Allowance Division at the Naval Inventory Control Point until retiring from civil service in the late 1980s. Patricia met Robert Patrick “Bob” Smith in the late 1960s, and they were married in 1973. Their marriage lasted nearly forty years.
“Pat, we all loved you. It is very sad to say goodbye to you, you were a vivacious lady who always welcomed us and was curious about our lives and families. You were so generous, and your love for family and friends was so admirable. We celebrate you as an example of a life well lived!”
Pat is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Stonebraker (Kimberly) and their three children — Abbie, Tori, and Joshua — and James Stonebraker and his two children, Corinne and Jonas. She also leaves behind members of Robert Smith’s family.
The family would also like to recognize the steadfast friendship and tireless devotion of Janet Biden of East Berlin, Sharon and Mike Marcantino of Dillsburg and Pat Harr of Dillsburg. The family is also deeply appreciative of the wonderful care provided by the staff at Celebration Villa.
The date and time of the burial service are still being determined. Services will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, where she will be interred with her husband Robert, a retired Navy veteran. A celebration of life ceremony will follow.
