Paul Michael Bissell, 53, passed suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Dillsburg on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026.
Paul was born Thursday, February 3rd, 1972 in Philadelphia and was the beloved son of Karen (Binker) Bissell and the late Charles J. Bissell, Jr. of Camp Hill, PA. He was the devoted husband of Laura Bissell (Waterhouse), his partner in life and love for over 29 years. Paul was a proud and deeply loving father to his three sons—Adam (g.f. Andrea) of Las Vegas, NV; Jordan (wife, Lexi) of Wellsville, PA; and Joshua of Dillsburg, PA. His boys were his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in the men they are.
A graduate of Mansfield University with a degree in Criminal Justice, Paul dedicated his career to public service with his most recent work as a Probation Officer for York County.
Paul and Laura attended Daybreak South in Mechanicsburg, where they faithfully walked the road to deepening their relationship with Jesus.
Paul will be remembered for his sense of humor, witty comments, and the deep loyalty he showed his family and those he loved. He was someone others relied on—a husband and father who loved fiercely, and a man whose life was dedicated to serving others.
In addition to his wife and children, Paul is survived by his mother, Karen Bissell of Camp Hill, PA; his brother, Charles “Chuck” Bissell (Michele) of Dillsburg, PA; his sister, Kathleen Bissell of Camp Hill, PA; his mother- and father-in-law, Susan and Allan Waterhouse of Dushore, PA; his like-brothers (Drew, Terry), who were family to him in every way; as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews who will all miss him so much.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at https://help.dav.org/page/66135/donate/1.
A visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at Daybreak South, 321 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA, on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, with visitation from 9:00–11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be provided following the service. All are welcome to attend.
