Pauline "Polly" M. Stine, 84, of Dillsburg went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, while a resident at Chapel Pointe, Carlisle.
She was born February 11, 1938, in Bellefonte, PA, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Florence M. (Henninger) Stem and grew up in the State College area.
Polly was the widow of Herman L. Stine. They shared 55 love-filled years together before his homegoing in 2013.
Although “Polly” was a nickname, she loved being called “Mom” or “Gram”. Family was her focus and she modeled deep love and care for her entire family as well as many others.
As an active member of Immanuel Church in Mechanicsburg, she was a former long-term Deaconess, choir member, and served in many other capacities in honor to her Lord. She always put others above herself and had a beautiful gift of hospitality. It was nearly impossible to be around her and not be offered a helping hand or something to eat!
Polly is survived by four sons, Gary L. Stine (Sue) of Dillsburg, Keith P. Stine (Deb) of Dillsburg, Duane A. Stine (Sue) of Dillsburg, Randy J. Stine (Tammy) of York Springs; one daughter, Brenda K. Staub (Ira) of Dillsburg; one brother, Charles W. Stem, Jr. of State College; ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Erin), Heather (Joe), Jamie, Jodi (Adam), Ryan, Amanda, Matthew (Stephanie), Jason (Grace), Jenna (Devin), Jessica; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Derric.
A public viewing will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 10-11am at Immanuel Church, 800 South Market St., Mechanicsburg, PA. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11am. Burial will be held in the Wolgamuth Church Cemetery, Dillsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Church, 800 South Market St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or the Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren, 276 Old York Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
