Peggy Lou (Grimes) Baker, age 93, of York Springs, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, June 28th, 2025, at the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle.
Born Saturday, June 11th, 1932, in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, Peggy Lou was the daughter of the late Day K. and Ruth M. (Heffner) Grimes.
Peggy Lou dedicated 28 years of service to Ward Trucking Corporation before retiring. She also served as the Concession Manager at Williams Grove Speedway, where her commitment and energy will be fondly remembered by many in the racing community she so loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William C. Baker, Sr.; her brother and sister-in-law, Day K. and Barbara (Snyder) Grimes; and her nieces, Debra Anderson and Kathy Yeakley.
She is survived by her loving son, William C. Baker, Jr., and his wife, Diane, of York Springs; two grandchildren, Patrick Baker and his wife, Amy, and Shari Erb; and four great-grandchildren, Kirk and Emmett Baker, and Dalton and Austin Erb. She is also survived by her nephew, Rick Grimes, and his wife, Sherry, and several great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
