Randall Kirkland Obituary

Randall Leigh Kirkland, 66, of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away at his home on April 16, 2024. Born to Leigh D. and Dolores G. (Fishel) Kirkland on October 18, 1957, his Christian faith guided him to a life dedicated to serving others.

Randy grew up in Dillsburg and attended Northern High School, sharing many great memories with friends of Williams Grove Park, Haar’s Drive-In, swimming in the Yellow Breeches, Blair Mountain Lodge, and riding motorcycles.  Before starting his mission work, Randy worked locally for Williams Grove, Dillsburg Septic, and Earl Livingston Farms.

Randy's calling was on the open road, ministering to truck drivers as a missionary with the Association of Christian Truckers (ACT) for many years with his beautiful wife, the late Rosemary (Bolyard) Kirkland. Based at their Road Angel Truckers Center in Brownstown, Illinois, Randy and Rose offered spiritual guidance, fellowship, and a compassionate ear to those on long journeys. A beacon of faith, they shared their warmth with countless truckers, forging lifelong connections. He and Rosemary built a remarkable network of brothers and sisters in Christ across the continent.

Randy truly was a special human being. He was born a twin to his brother, Rex, and their bond has remained strong throughout their lives.  Randy brought cheer wherever he went with his wonderful sense of humor, and his kindness touched the lives of so many friends and family members who loved him dearly. Whether it was working on cars, fishing, or spending time with the people he loved, he embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm and a deep love for his Lord. Randy was always there to lend a helping hand, never hesitating to drop everything for someone in need. A noble person and a true light in the world, he will be deeply missed.

Randy leaves behind a cherished family including his loving parents Leigh and Dolores, his siblings, Stephen D. Kirkland (wife Deborah) of East Berlin, Rex L. Kirkland (wife Joy) of Dillsburg, Susan K. Kirkland (husband Joe Heary) of Basking Ridge, NJ, and Douglas E. Kirkland (wife Heather) of Dillsburg, stepchildren Bryan Lockart (GA), Bradley Lockart (IL), Lisha Ledbetter (IL), and Lisa Smith (FL). He was beloved by many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Randy was predeceased by the love of his life, Rosemary and his stepmother, Pearl Kirkland of Dillsburg, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Association of Christian Truckers Road Angel to continue Randy’s legacy of service. Donation information may be found at www.roadangeltruckerscenter.com.
