Raymond Joseph Henz Sr., age 75, lovingly known as “Pappy,” passed away peacefully at 3:25 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at UPMC West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his daughter and son, Stacey and Ray.
Raymond was born on February 10, 1950. For the past 30 years, he made his home in Dillsburg, PA, where he enjoyed a quiet life surrounded by family. He worked for many years at Freight Land Sky (FLS) in Harrisburg, PA, where he was known for his dedication and reliability.
Raymond was a loving and supportive son, father, and grandfather. He was always there—steady, present, and ready to lend a hand or offer encouragement to any one. He was a family man, whether it was showing up when we needed him, sharing a laugh over dad jokes, or just spending time together, he gave his heart fully to those he loved.
He found joy in the simple things—bowling, fishing, and especially golf, which became a favorite in his later years. Some of his best days were spent on the course with his son, and more recently, he cherished playing with his grandkids. He had a lighthearted spirit and a fun sense of humor. We’ll never forget the many fun times like playing putt-putt, watching the minion movies together, showing his grandkids the forklift at work, and working alongside him in the yard.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Reffner; his daughter, Stacey Crockett, and her husband Bob, along with grandchildren Brittany, Nicole, and Molly Temple; and his son, Raymond Joseph Henz II, and his wife Katherine, with grandchildren Caleb, Elijah, Eliana, and Cora.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal service at this time. He was cremated, and the family will honor his memory privately.
